- Final Statement: Interagency Standards for Diversity Policies Will be Voluntary
Six federal regulators, including the NCUA, have issued a final interagency statement establishing standards for financial institutions to follow in creating diversity policies and practicesâall of which will by voluntary. The statement is meant to comply with Dodd-Frank, and will impact all financial institutions with more than 100 employees. [6/10/15]
- Interagency Diversity Expectations Released
Fulfilling a requirement of the Dodd-Frank Act, the FRB, CFPB, OCC, SEC, FDIC, and NCUA have created an interagency policy statement related to diversity policy and practice standards expected of regulated institutions. Also take a look at the final statement and the board voting. [6/10/15]
- NCUA Staff May be Victims of OPM Data Breach
Several current and former NCUA employees are thought to be victims of the large data breach of the Office of Personnel Management. The breach of OPM computers was reported last week, but dates back to April. Sensitive data of at least 4 million may have been affected. [6/10/15
- The New Appraisal Rule has been Appraised
A final rule has been adopted by the OCC, Board, FDIC, NCUA, CFPB, and FHFA that sets forth minimum requirements in the Dodd-Frank Act for appraisal management companies. [6/9/15]
- NCUA Eases Complaint Process
The NCUAâs Letter to Credit Unions 15-CU-04 outlines the agencyâs streamlined and improved consumer complaint process. Among other changes, the NCUA will now allow credit unions up to 60 days to resolve consumer complaints. [6/5/15]
- Remittances Webinar from NCUA
The NCUA will be hosting a webinar entitled, âRemittances and Other Money Transfer Servicesâ on July 17th at 2:00 pm EST. The webinar is designed for credit unions that want more information about international funds transfers and the regulatory requirements related to these types of transactions. - NCUA to Host Town Hall Meeting
NCUA Chair Debbie Matz will be hosting a town hall webinar on Tuesday, July 29 at 3:00 pm EST that will cover a range of subjects that include updates on CU industry performance, the NCUA Regulatory Modernization Initiative, regulatory relief, upcoming revisions to the MBL rule, cybersecurity, and interest rate risk. - Confused About Call Reports? There’s a Webcast for That
A NAFCU webcast will be held on June 10, addressing "Critical Call Report Training." The webcast is for all credit union staff charged with providing their institutions' call reports to the NCUA and will address completing reports, avoiding common errors, etc. [6/2/15]
- Doing Time: The NCUA Issues New Prohibition Orders
The NCUA has issued prohibition orders against three former credit union employees for theft and embezzlement. All will be serving prison terms and have been ordered to pay restitution. [6/1/15]
- NCUA Is Monitoring CUs in TX, OK Flood Areas
Although federally insured credit unions located in the areas of Texas and Oklahoma that have been impacted by recent flooding are operating normally, NCUA is reaching out to them through its examiners and through the state leagues and state regulators to provide information about the agencyâs disaster relief program that can provide assistance from rescheduling examinations to guaranteeing lines of credit through the Share Insurance Fund.
