NAFCUâs 990 form shows that CEO Dan Berger received a base salary of $455,599, which is a far cry from CUNA CEO Jim Nussleâs base pay of $850,000. A bonus, incentive pay, and deferred compensation brought Bergerâs total compensation to $658,934 for 2014. [8/19/15]

The form 990 recently filed by CUNA reveals that President/CEO Jim Nussleâs base salary is $850,000. This is $46,900 higher than the base salary of his predecessor Bill Cheney, who is now the President/CEO of SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union. [8/18/15]
- Are You in Step With the Revised Military Lending Rule?
CUNA has published a comprehensive analysis of the recent amendments to the Military Lending Act, which significantly expands the coverage of the Act and revises its APR calculation. The changes are effective October 1, 2015 and compliance is mandatory by October 3, 2016. [8/11/15]

The Act is a guide to help frame issues and initiate discussions within the credit union system and public policymakers. - CUNA Releases Strategic Plan
CUNA has released its strategic plan for 2015-2017. Whatâs in it? The main focus is a 360-degree advocacy plan to move toward dedicating 100% of member dues to advocacy efforts. The plan also calls for strong promotions to spread the message about the benefits of credit union membership. Whatâs not in the plan? There is no mention of the dual membership issue or of the rebranding of CUNA to Americaâs Credit Unions. [7/30/15]

CUNA has released the 2015-2016 editions of its CUNA Compensation Analytics and CUNA Staff Salary Report. The reports are based on data provided from 1,300 credit unions from across the country. [7/29/15]
- CFPB Rule Exemptions Pushed by New Bill
The CFPB is unwilling to exercise exemptions to credit unions, and credit unions are feeling that burden. Now CUNA and NAFCU have come together in letters to Congress saying that it is time to force the CFPB to enact such exemptions. And it looks like Congress is listening. [7/20/15]
